Buckeye Basements, Inc. is a locally owned and family-operated business in the Central Ohio area. Basement finishing/basement remodeling is our specialty, but we also offer kitchen and bath remodeling services. Our work is truly custom, and we have received increasing recognition and praise from both our customers and peers over the past twenty-two (22) years in operation.

From the one-room projects to those that are larger in scope or more detailed, our prices are highly competitve. Jon Smith has over thirty (30) years of experience in the construction field. He personally aids in the design and construction of every project. He is currently a member of both Strathmore and Biltmore's Who's Who. In November 2002, Jon Smith won the national competition of the Dewalt "Million Dollar (tool) Challenge" held in Phoenix, Arizona, and was crowned the nation's "King of the Drill!" Jon was able to sink five screws into pine wood in 6.7 seconds (a world-record low) using a 14.4 v. cordless Dewalt drill. His winnings included prize money, a new 2003 Chevy van, and $2,000 worth of Dewalt tools. Since then, Jon has been interviewed/appeared on The John Walsh (Morning) Show, People Magazine, ESPN Sportscenter, Paul Harvey, The John Corby Show, XM Satellite Radio, Winston Cup Scene, Tools of the Trade Magazine, the Columbus Dispatch, CNN, The Morning Zoo (WNCI 97.9 Columbus), Fox Sports Radio Network, and the Delaware Gazette, to name a few. . .For this owner, tools are not only his trade but are also his passion!!! Leah Smith handles all marketing and office management. She also assists in project management and communicates with each of our customers as to the construction timeline (i.e. scheduling of crews, inspections, ordering materials, etc.) She received her business degree from Ohio University and attended college full time while still a junior and senior in high school. She received the Outstanding Graduate Award in 1993 and became a member of both Cambridge and Biltmore's Who's Who.
